Malaria is a major health problem in Malawi. With your help, NetsforLife® is working to distribute life-saving nets and train people in Malawi on malaria awareness and prevention.
Malawi has a predominantly agrarian-based economy, with 90% of the population living in rural areas. Agricultural products— primarily tobacco — account for 80% of export revenues.
The current government has been successful in rooting out corruption and establishing sound fiscal policies which bode well for the country’s future.
However, a persistent drought and the rising HIV/AIDS prevalence rate (currently 14.2% of adults are infected) threaten progress.
Malaria is a major public health problem in Malawi, as all of the country is at risk of transmission due to the tropical climate. Transmission peaks in December and June.
NetsforLife® will be working with the Church of the Province of Central Africa in three of its four dioceses: Diocese of Northern Malawi, Diocese of Southern Malawi and Diocese of the Upper Shire.
NetsforLife® is working in 15 districts in Malawi: Thyolo, Blantyr, Muzuzu, Nkkhata-bay, Ru, Phi, Mzimba, Karonga, Zomba, Machinga, Mangochi, Balaka, Manza, Neno and Ntcheu.
There are an estimated 250 million cases of malaria each year, resulting in nearly 800,000 deaths. The majority of these deaths are children younger than five years old. Join us in the fight against malaria in Africa. Give today.

NetsforLife® is a partnership of corporations, foundations, nongovernmental groups, and faith-based organizations working to fight malaria in Africa.
