Malaria created an enormous burden for Felicidade. The cost of the trips to the hospital depleted the family’s meager income, and with each trip she lost valuable time to work on her farm.
Elize lives with her husband and eight children in Katanga province in DR Congo. Because malaria is rampant in her community, Elize had to spend a large portion of the family’s limited income on medical treatment for her children, who were infected repeatedly.
