The President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) represents an historic five-year expansion of U.S. Government (USG) resources to fight malaria in the region most affected by the disease. The President committed an additional $1.2 billion in malaria funding to this Initiative with the goal of reducing malaria-related deaths by 50 percent in 15 focus countries. NetsforLife® is currently working on PMI projects in Angola and Ghana.

Malaria No More UK, our partner, is part of a global effort to put an end to the suffering and death caused by malaria. Malaria No More UK works with governments, the private sector, faith groups and the British public to raise vital funds and awareness to support projects in Sub Saharan Africa to help make malaria no more.

World Health Organization (WHO) annually publishes a World Malaria Report (WMR 2010). The 2010 report is an update to analysis presented in 2009 and summarizes information received from 106 malaria-endemic countries. The 2010 report calls for additional funding and resources, increased net distribution efforts and reinforces the fragility of malaria control and the need to sustain progress for a greater impact. Highlights include a decrease in the number of deaths from over 1 million to 800,000.
