Students of Hutchesons' Grammar School Raise Funds to Support NetsforLife®

Kingarth Street had an exciting morning last Friday - everyone came in fancy dress to support  this year's school charity, NetsforLife®. Thank you to everyone for baking, making, dressing up and buying all the goodies. Well done to P7R and P6C for organising the event.

Green Hills School and NetsforLife®: Changing the World Through Innovation

With a desire to have a profound impact on global challenges, Tara and Louis Rossi began researching locally-based NGOs. Their research led the couple to NetsforLife®, Episcopal Relief & Development’s program partnership working to prevent malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. The goal for Green Hills students is to design and build a new kind of clip or net harness, making long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLIN) more convenient to use.

Instilling a Net Culture

A net culture is in place when people understand the protective value of nets, know how to prevent malaria, and understand when to seek effective medical treatment. The result: less sickness, fewer deaths and stronger communities.
